Job Description:
The HVAC Aftermarket Parts Sales Representative is a hybrid sales role responsible for supporting customers at the branch while developing business throughout the local market.
This person will provide inside sales and counter support, including customer inquiries, quotations, order entry, parts identification, product availability, and walk in customer service. They will also make outside sales calls, build relationships with existing and new customers, prospect for opportunities, and grow HVAC aftermarket parts and replacement equipment sales within the assigned territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Provide professional inside sales and counter support by phone, email, and in person.
- Assist customers with HVAC parts, replacement equipment, pricing, availability, and order status.
- Prepare quotations using company pricing tools and guidelines.
- Enter and process customer orders accurately through delivery and completion.
- Verify inventory availability, product specifications, pricing, and order accuracy.
- Assist walk in customers and maintain an organized, responsive counter environment.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate HVAC parts, replacement equipment, and aftermarket solutions.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, operations, and internal teams on special orders, inventory needs, and delivery logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, orders, and follow up activity.
- Escalate complex technical, pricing, application, or inventory concerns when needed.
- Follow up on open quotations and sales opportunities to help convert them into orders.
- Promote the company’s aftermarket parts manufacturers and product lines.
Additional:
- Build relationships with contractors, service companies, building owners, and other customers.
- Make regular outside sales calls and customer visits within the assigned territory.
- Prospect for new business through cold calls, jobsite visits, referrals, and inactive account follow up.
- Reactivate inactive accounts and identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships.
- Identify upcoming projects, replacement opportunities, stock requirements, and other sources of aftermarket revenue.
- Participate in customer events, trade shows, open houses, manufacturer training, and company functions as needed.
- Stay current on HVAC products, manufacturers, industry trends, and market opportunities.
- Work with Aftermarket Parts leadership to support sales initiatives, growth strategies, and branch goals.
- Support branch, warehouse, and Aftermarket Parts operations as needed.
Experience and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- HVAC, mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related sales experience preferred.
- Previous inside sales, counter sales, outside sales, or customer service experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, parts, replacement equipment, and aftermarket solutions strongly preferred.
- Experience using ERP or order entry systems. FACTS experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong customer service, communication, sales, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to prepare quotations, process orders, and manage multiple customer requests accurately.
- Self motivated and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to make outside sales calls and visit customers throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to grow into a larger outside sales role as the customer base and territory expands.
