Job Description:
The Outside Sales Engineer - Air Distribution role is responsible for the design, configuration, operation, and pricing of building controls systems, including heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design heating and cooling systems and their controls
Make load calculations to determine how much heating and cooling power various equipment must use to heat and cool spaces when needed
Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints for new construction projects
Calculate ventilation requirements based on the types of systems needed
Determine costs for heating and cooling systems and write up detailed budget estimates
Review drawings and answer technical questions for customers
Performs other related duties as assigned

Experience and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent mechanical and technical skills
Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery
